Fletcher arrows Accrington to win
On-loan striker Wes Fletcher fired Accrington to their first win of the new campaign as Bradford were beaten 1-0.
The Burnley man pounced on the ball from Andy Procter's header, got the better of defender Guy Branston and slid home past the onrushing Liverpool loan keeper Martin Hansen from the edge of the area after 78 minutes.
He only signed on a six-month loan for the Reds this week but he was lively, grazing the crossbar with a cross and forcing a save out of Hansen.
Substitute Craig Lindfield came close after the break for the home side while midfielder Luke Joyce had a fierce strike pushed out by Hansen before Fletcher struck.
Peter Jackson's visitors broke a couple of times with Michael Flynn showing his pace on the right, but his perfect cross into the area could not be finished off.
Jack Crompton also played some dangerous crosses into the box while striker James Hanson tried his luck from distance but City could not test Reds keeper Sean Murdoch.
