"We've had a stumble or two but generally the players have raised the standards and the tempo of our game. But obviously if results don't come then it becomes difficult for everybody.
"All I've asked for is that the players go out and give everything. Training has been a lot harder than before and at this time of the year, bringing that type of regime in could have been very difficult in a lot of dressing rooms.
"The players have responded and the intensity we've shown has improved markedly but we need the results to show for that.
"I feel we've made a deal of progress over the last few weeks but there are obviously things that we can do better and there is a lot still to work on."
