Justin Richards and Marc Richards earned Port Vale a 2-0 victory at Bradford. Marc Richards put Vale in front after 33 minutes when Gary Roberts' corner from the right found him unmarked in the Bradford box and he scored with a header from 10 yards out. The second goal came after 75 minutes as Bradford were putting pressure on the visitors in a bid to force an equaliser. Midfield player Tommy Doherty chipped a back pass to Jon McLaughlin, but the Bantams keeper failed to control the ball and Justin Richards turned it into the empty net. Bradford, who have now lost three League matches in a row, rarely tested visiting keeper Stuart Tomlinson, but missed a great chance to equalise a minute before half-time. Defender Luke Oliver picked out Jake Speight with a header across the face of the goal, but the striker handled the ball with the goal at his mercy.
