The shoddy finishing which has hampered Bradford from the season's start was evident again as they went down to a 1-0 home defeat against fellow strugglers Morecambe. Bradford, who gave debuts to young Manchester United defenders Reece Brown and Oliver Gill, should have led as early as the second minute when Lee Hendrie shot over an open goal after Omar Daley's cross hit the far post. Morecambe took a 23rd-minute lead with the softest of goals. Mark Duffy crossed from the right at the second attempt and poor marking left striker Paul Mullin the simple task of side-footing the ball past Jon McLaughlin. Luke Oliver wasted a glorious chance for Bradford when he headed over the bar and just before half-time Adam Rundle hit the angle of post and bar for Morecambe. Duffy, Rundle, Andrew Fleming and substitute Scott Brown all went close to increasing the Shrimps' lead. Bradford have now gone three matches without scoring as manager Peter Taylor's search for attacking reinforcements grows ever more urgent.
