A dejected McCall said: "At the end of the day you can't defend like we did.
"We conceded two really poor goals. We shot ourselves in the foot.
"Our defending just wasn't good enough and the bottom line is that we're in a results-based business.
"The second half wasn't too bad. The performance after the break didn't surprise me because we've got too many experienced professionals in the dressing room to buckle."
