McCall told the club's official website: "He has ended his ties with Huddersfield and he's with us until the end of the season, so we'll see what happens from there.
"Hopefully he can get his head down, work hard and give us some experience at the back.
"Matt has not played many games this season due to the good form of the young lad at Huddersfield (Alex Smithies), but he's in good shape and really keen to get matches under his belt."
McCall added: "We're delighted to bring Matt to the club, he's a goalkeeper with a great pedigree and a good track record."
