Jackson taking time over appointment

Former Bantams defender Jackson is operating on a week-to-week basis after replacing the departed Peter Taylor and is happy to work closely with youth-team boss David Wetherall until he announces his number two.

Jackson said: "I have to say I've been very impressed with David and what he's been doing with the players in training so far.

"I've made a couple of calls to people this week, but I'm in no rush and I'm not keen to disrupt things too much ahead of such an important fixture (at Gillingham on Saturday).

"I'm still hopeful of getting someone in to allow David to return to his youth-team role, but if it doesn't happen by the start of next week then I'm more than happy to have David alongside me in the dugout for the Rotherham match."

Jackson confirmed Wetherall was not looking for a permanent role on the first-team coaching staff and will return to his position as youth-team manager.
