James Hanson gave the Bantams victory with a header after 32 minutes as the former Huddersfield boss made it two wins in three games since taking over from Peter Taylor on a temporary basis, making it clear he wants the job on a permanent basis.
He said: "I am desperate for this job, I think everyone knows that. I`ve been out of the game for 17 months and this is a dream job for any manager.
"The team have given me everything so far and I suppose in many ways the job is mine to lose now but I can't ask for any more than I am getting at the moment.
"I think we deserved the win. I really enjoyed the win, it wasn't the end-to-end game we saw in midweek and we can play a lot better, but we showed a great deal of determination and I am delighted with the three points.
"I was brought in to calm the ship and the two wins have done that. We are moving up the table and have opened the gap between us and the wrong end of the table which is where we want to be."
