The Bantams second string, including the likes of Jon McLaughlin, Gareth Evans, Jake Speight, Scott Dobie, Jon Worthington and Tom Adeyemi, beat Port Vale 6-2.
Jackson, who replaced Peter Taylor on Sunday on a week-to-week basis, said: "The attitude of the players was excellent and we perhaps could have scored even more goals at the end.
"I've kept saying to the players at the start of this week, let's be positive, express yourself and work hard and I thought every single one of them did that.
"I have to say, the players have all shown that sort of attitude this week. It's been a joy to work with them so far.
"If they can continue in this same vein then we'll have a great chance of coming away from Gillingham with a result."
