Nigerian Chilaka, 24, signed by previous manager Peter Taylor from Notts County last summer, has spent the last two months on loan and scored a hat-trick in his final game on Saturday.
Jackson said: "He has done very well at Harrogate recently and I was pleased to see him get a hat-trick on Saturday, but I want to take a closer look at him myself.
"He, like a number of the players in the dressing room, is out of contract at the end of the season and I want to give him a chance to earn a longer stay here.
"He is also different to the other strikers that we have at the club. He's a big, powerful lad and could give us another option at some point between now and the end of the season."
